Eating with Sustainable Intention

Looking to make the switch to organic foods but finding it too expensive? Well, this is the class for you! In this class, we explore the many techniques you can use to reduce costs, replenish your staples, and beat the “whole paycheck” effect.

We’ll use some of the chef’s favorite organic produce and whole foods that showcases Black American dishes while we discover the importance of organic ingredients as a practice in sustainability—and their place in our food systems. Expand your culinary horizons with exciting recipes and fresh skills. It's one of the best cooking classes for beginners to try with a group!

Urban Homestead & Food Crafting

Chef Ikeena has been crafting artisan goodies for years; a skill she learned from watching her grandparents use their urban homes as places to preserve summer fruits and veggies and create gifts for friends and family members during the holiday seasons.

In this class, she shares her techniques and secret recipes with you for old time favorites like Southern chow-chow relish, blueberry jam, dessert sauces, pickles, cocktail mixers, canned fruits, condiments and more!

Cooking Across Borders: Historical Dishes from within The Diaspora (Guest Chef Appearances)

In this highly anticipated class series, we take a trip around the world and share culturally relevant techniques and recipes from peoples of Black and Indigenous experience.

Learn about the shared cultural values, ingredients and preparation styles that have been carried in the collective consciousness of people from the Caribbean Islands; North, South & Central Americas; Africa; Europe; the Middle East; and Australia.

We will share the kitchen with global experts and representatives of various cultures to gain a deeper understanding of the ties that connect and the wisdom they offer. Countries will be added to this list as we gain more connections with foodpreneurs abroad.

This class is awesome for fundraising events, cultural fairs, art walks, heritage celebrations or symposiums, and college student union events!
